Kaziranga is synonymous with One-horned Rhinoceros. Kaziranga located in the State of Assam in the Brahmaputra Valley floodpains. There are four zones for safari, the central, the western, the eastern and Burapahar range. In 1985, Kaziranga received the status of UNESCO world heritage site and in 2006 it was recognized as a tiger reserve.

Being a part of the Terai ecosystem, diverse animals and birds are seen here. Animals seen here are Tiger, One-horned Rhino, Wild Elephants, Barahsingha, Wild Buffalo, swamp deer to name a few. Also some very rare and unknown animals are reported by few jungle enthusiasts.

How to reach here – One can reach here by flight or train to Guwahati. (Flight though is the preferred option.)
