Sunderbans is a mangrove forest in the delta formed by the confluence of Ganga, Brahmaputra, Mohena Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. It is the largest mangrove forest in the world situated on the India-Bangladesh border. The Sunderbans were earlier regarded as the man-eater forests but now it is history and Sunderbans is open for tiger tourism.
Animals seen here are Royal Bengal Tigers, Fishing Cats, Leopard Cats, Jungle Cats, Crocodiles, Water monitor lizard, Peregrine Falcon Birds, Owls to name a few.
We ditch the regular jeep safaris here and ride a boat. Either you can stay on these boats or if you suffer from water sickness you can stay in the hotels nearby.
How to reach here – One can reach here either by flight or train to Kolkata.
