The Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary, a hidden gem, was quite unknown upto recent times. Situated in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra at Maharashtra-Telangana border, Tipeshwar is home to a large number of tigers. As compared to other tiger reserves of Maharahtra, the area of this jungle is very less but its tiger strength is immense. Tigers are more here thus leopards are fewer and you might not sight one during the safari.
Water is plenty here, and the gum trees, Palash trees, Mahua trees, Tendu trees enhances the beauty of the jungle. In summers the full bloomed Palash trees rightly called the ‘Flame tree’ are a sight to behold.
There are three main entry gates Mathani, Sunna and Kodori. The kodori gate is suitable for the people coming from Hyderabad, Telanga side while the other two are preferable for the people coming from Maharashtra.’ A Mark(Archie), 4 Mark, Talavwali, Janjeer, 7 Mark’ are the famous tigers here attracting the tiger enthusiast tourists.
